Following the success of the first EatChiswick food and drink festival, the new dates have been announced for next year and they are June 1-8, 2016.
“For eight days starting from June 1, Chiswick was transformed into a haven for foodies with the inaugural EatChiswick food and drink festival. We’re already working on making it bigger and better in 2016. The ambition for EatChiswick was, and remains, for it to showcase all that’s on offer in the area and make Chiswick the foodie capital of London. We’re now one step closer to achieving that aim,” said organiser Eva Keogan.
With over 80 local businesses taking part, 10 official events and many more such as walks, tours, tastings and talks, Chiswick became a destination for London foodies eager to experience the culinary delights of W4. Many businesses reported increased footfall and were delighted to be able to participate in the event which created a special buzz around Chiswick while welcoming new visitors and bringing the community together.
“With so many features to the festival, it’s hard to pick out one in particular as being the best. However, the EatChiswick street food market which featured local traders, artisans and restaurants was hugely popular with shoppers and traders. We’re also excited to announce that we are hoping to make this a monthly fixture on the High Road. Thanks to Hounslow Council for its kind sponsorship of the street food market; it’s an honour to stage an extraordinarily memorable and instantly popular event,” Eva added.
Councillor Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council, said: “It’s great to be able to support local businesses when they’re looking at ways to attract more trade to their shops and bring visitors to the area. “We were proud to sponsor the first EatChsiwick event. It was a great success for the participants, enjoyed by all who attended and a super way to discover the delights of this pocket of Hounslow. Congratulations to Eva and her team on a job well done.”
